what?!

…I changed my name to Dropped a Deuce from Dinkin’ Flicka after Deuce McAllister (my 3rd round pick) got injured for the season.

So, I just bought this puppy online from newegg.com for $250 +tax. This should complete one of the pieces for the monster machine I’m building that I’m hoping will last me a little less than a decade (wishful thinking). The GeForce 8800 GT 512Mb card has gotten sparkling reviews from many sites for its power compared to others in its series, namely the 8800 GTS and GTX, which are almost double in price.
So, in between Christmas shopping for others this weekend I decided that my computer needed upgrading from its circa-2003 self. I spent a few hours over the weekend looking for deals perusing DealNews, GotApex, and FatWallet and finally found my replacement box. I’m about 700 bucks poorer but came out of my shopping experience with a computer that should last me about another 4 years or so…I figure that’s a good investment.
So we’re on the second week in Rome and I think we’ve seen pretty much everything. We’ve explored every piazza and and every historical landmark we know of. It’s been great but I’m ready to move on to different sights.
I’ve added pics to flickr at www.flickr.com/photos/webslinger/
So, Leanne and I are just weeks away from our departure to Italy for our destination wedding in the Amalfi Coast. We’re both feeling a plethora of emotions from excitement, stress, nervousness, and most of all anticipation as the day draws nearer.
Happy Easter!
I love the closing credits to this vid, “We watch FOX so you don’t have to.” This is an interesting and very heated debate between Gerlado Rivera and Bill O’Reilly on immigration reform and a drunk driving case of an illegal immigrant killing teenagers in Virginia.
I guess even the best can slip up when “L”ove is in the air…

Happy Valentines Day!
This is an awesome chat client that intergrates all my contacts from Y!, AIM, and MSN. I usually use trillian, but this is perfect when I’m on a machine where I can’t download any IM clients…
My fiancé and I just bought a 2 month old pug and she was the most adorable thing the both of us have ever seen. The moment we brought her home and told our family and friends about her, everyone wanted to hold her and keep her. My twin nieces, especially, adored her. So much, that they wanted puppy Pugs of their own. My sister has been set on geting a Shitzu, but after realizing how harder it is to groom a Shitzu with their long hairs, she’s happier settling for a Pug.
At first, Leanne wanted to call her Viansa, after some Italian wine she thought was a cool name. We tried that, and gave up after realizing it was just not the right fit for her. So, we agreed on calling her Yume, meaning dreams or aspirations in Japanese. It was a cute enough name.
Our lil’ Yume at 2 months

So, I finally got around to creating my wiki on wiki.flashtut.com. I plan to use this as a personal resource for Web Design tip & tricks, as well as for a little bit of fun. I don’t know, maybe I can publish local slang words and their definitions. I’ll try not to make this wiki too ‘hurt’. I’m hoping to have fun with this as I learn the little intricacies of wiki publishing.
It’s so awesome not having to go to Starbucks to get Internet access when I’m hanging out in downtown Mountain View, or just relaxing by the lake at Shoreline Park.
I’ve been looking for a feature such as Google Notebook for the longest time, and now it’s here. Previously, I used Tadalist to organize all my notes, such as to do lists, project lists, grocery lists, x-mas list, etc. It’s still a great service since it allows me to access my lists from anywhere and check off items I’ve done with a strike-through, and I’ve used it often times when I’ve been traveling. I think Google Notebook may be much more flexible for me since it offers a larger text area for jotting down long notes.
It’s about time they cleaned up the look of the site. It’s much easier on the eyes now.
Yeah, I’m usually late when it comes to trendy words. So, I go to an event the magazine I’m volunteering for is throwing and the they throw out the word, “Ghostriding the Whip.” Never heard of it before, so I look it up on YouTube, and a bunch of results show up of people ghostriding the whip while playing the E-40 song, “Tell Me When to Go.” Some of the videos were pretty funny, one was pretty bad (it looked like he may have gotten killed), and the others were just more of the same thing.
The other new Bay Area word I just learned was “Hyphy” and the Hyphy Movement, which is similar to Crunk and LA Krumping. It’s been used for a long time, and I think I’ve heard it in rap songs in the past; but I’m slow when it comes to picking up these things.
Anyways, I just hope I can use them before they get played out.
After scouring the Web for good blogs and/or CMS programs, I’ve finally come to rest with Word Press. It seems to be what I’ve been looking for all these years, and I’ve tried them all including: Drupal, Mambo, Movable Type, Xanga, LiveJournal, Yahoo 360°, etc.
I’m finally at peace. [sigh of relief]
Happy New Years 2006!
Sorry, I haven’t posted any new updates lately. I still need to post my P.I. pictures, since everyone’s asking about them. I’ve just been so busy with work and other commitments. At work, I’ve been developing our comany’s acquisition of IRS.COM for the most part. Then on the side I have to work on HyphenMagazine.com for a friend as well as revamp LuckyJumps.com for my girlfriend’s brother-in-law.
Other stuff I’ve been doing include, of course, playing around with web sites for fun. My latest ventures include, www.ipwnjoo.com — just a site to talk more trash (the latest word we use at the office to smack talk is PWN which means to player own), post news, and to support my gaming addiction. Www.outlawsimmortal.com is another site I’m using to tinker around with Drupal CMS. I’m using the CMS for a WoW guild.
I won the company fantasy football league again for the second straight year. I straight PWN in fantasy football. I think next year they’re going to handicap me with my first selection being only kicker. Yeah, like that’ll deter my pwnage. I plan on updating this blog (about time, huh?). I’ll be integrating it with Drupal CMS, my latest interest. I’ve played with Mambo and Joomla a bit, granted they have nice features and great support, but to me they just carry too much overhead and features that I’ll probably never use.
Other things in my to-do in 2006 queue, include:
Designing general purpose Drupal themes
Implementing a PHP photo gallery for LuckyJumps.com
Update to the latest version of Movable Type
PWN all the blog spammers
Do some SEO work for contract commercial sites
Discover the next million dollar idea (i.e. www.milliondollarhomepage.com)
Design Bay Area Limo service website for friend
Design website for Philippine travel, hotel & entertainment company
I’m leaving for the Philippine Islands this Friday for a much needed two week vacation. I’ve been looking forward to this trip for a long long time, and now it’s almost time. I’ll be hanging out in the following locations:
Quezon City
Tagatay (maybe San Miguel resort, too)
Makati
Then, I’ll fly to the Visayan Islands…
Cebu
Bacolod
Then finally!…BORACAY!
Boracay, I’ve been longing to go to for years. It’s just one of the most beautiful islands on earth, with it’s pristine white sand beaches, local islanders, small fishing-village atmosphere, and its peacefulness. To me it’s as close to heaven as you can get.
I’m just going to be chillaxin’ with my flip-flops and enjoying the time away from the stresses of work. Wilson! Wiiilllssoonn!!
