Filming in Financial District

So, apparently Will Smith is filming his latest movie near our offices on Montgomery Street. They’ve closed off some streets in the area and I could see the crew working from a distance. A friend working near the First Republic Bank, IM’d me that he saw Will running through California Street between Montgomery and Kearny…kind of funny when I think about it. My guess is that he’s probably chasing after some cable car, since they run through California St. straight up a hill. It should be over by the end of this week, and I believe they’ll be relocating the film crew somewhere within the Mission District. I checked on IMDB and the name of the movie is, Pursuit of Happyness, a film set in the 80’s. I’m wondering if that means Will’s got his hightop fade again.

They picked a good week to be filming. It’s probably the hottest week so far this year, with practically no wind which is a big surprise since it seems like it’s windy where I’m at 90% of the year. It’s pretty exciting knowing that Hollywood is filming a lot of their movies in San Francisco while I see the same scenery on the silver screen as I do every day that I go to work. I guess it helps me appreciate working up here a bit more.
