Leaving for the P.I!!!!! woohoo!

Monday, September 26th, 2005 | What's New? | 1 Comment

I’m leaving for the Philippine Islands this Friday for a much needed two week vacation. I’ve been looking forward to this trip for a long long time, and now it’s almost time. I’ll be hanging out in the following locations:

Quezon City
Tagatay (maybe San Miguel resort, too)
Makati

Then, I’ll fly to the Visayan Islands…

Cebu
Bacolod
Then finally!…BORACAY!

Boracay, I’ve been longing to go to for years. It’s just one of the most beautiful islands on earth, with it’s pristine white sand beaches, local islanders, small fishing-village atmosphere, and its peacefulness. To me it’s as close to heaven as you can get.

I’m just going to be chillaxin’ with my flip-flops and enjoying the time away from the stresses of work. Wilson! Wiiilllssoonn!!

Cowboys practicing at Spartan Stadium

Monday, September 26th, 2005 | Sports | 2 Comments

I hear the Dallas Cowboys are practicing at SJSU’s Spartan Stadium in between games they have with the 49ers(last week) and the Raiders(this week). I’d like to get a bunch of Cowboy haters together and boo them out of town :)

I’ve always hated the Cowboys. Maybe it’s because of their 90’s dynasty or because of their claim as “America’s Team.” There’s just something about Jerry Jones and his team that just brings out the hater in me. Although, I do have much respect for Tuna and Julius Jones, and rookie Tyson Thompson from SJSU has looked impressive returning kicks. Other than those folks, I have no love for Dem Boys.

Haha!!! this clip made my Friday…

Fantasy Football is BACK!

Looks like I better polish my trophy case and make room for another Walnut Ventures trophy to go with last years’. They say 50% of all your efforts in winning a championship goes to having a good draft. So, I guess I only need to put 50% effort this year in managing my team. Every time I look at my roster, I can’t help but smirk. Considering I was drafting 6 out of 10, I did pretty well…

1. Randy Moss (everyone else was hording RBs and QBs)
2. Willis McGahee (I couldn’t believe he was still available in the 2nd round!)
3. Torry Holt (I wanted to complement Randy on the other side)
4. Rudi Johnson (had him last year too, decent #2 RB. Highly underrated)
5. Brian Westbrook (A steal with Buckhalter hurt. He’ll be the workhorse for Philly.)
6. Carnell “Cadillac” Williams (I had to pick at least one Auburn RB, and who else but the one going into Week 1 as the undisputed starter?)
7. Steve Smith (Sleeper pick. He was a monster before getting hurt last year and it looks like he’s back to his old form.)
8. Muhsin Muhammad (I took this gamble. I’m hoping Kyle Orton gets him the ball easily. I’ll use him as backup for now, but it was hard to resist the WR who lead the league in yards and TDs last year.)
9. Matt Hasselbeck (Since I still needed a QB, I picked the one with the most weapons and was still available. He looks good in preseason, so far.)
10. Dallas Clark (Marcus Pollard is gone, so he should get more red zone touches.)
11. Deion Branch (Can’t believe nobody picked up the MVP of the Super Bowl after 10 rounds!)
12. Chicago D (Urlacher is back and the D was upgraded during the offseason.)
13. Travis Henry (My backup RB. I’m doubting Chris Brown can last a full season, and Henry should be a starter in most teams.)
14. David Akers (I wasn’t going to draft a kicker at all, but since he was still available, I pulled the trigger.)
15. Amani Toomer (Probably not worth a fantasy roster spot, but I couldn’t find any other good backup WRs)
16. Chris Cooley (Backup TE. He’s probably the only target Ramsey will find with that poor Washington offense.)

That’s it! My leaguemates are going down once again. It’s going to be a fun season with all the trash talking and gloating. Hopefully, I’ll be able go to some Raiders games and see my boy Moss in action.

FOOTBALL SEASON! WOOHOO! My favorite time of the year.
